With the sunshine approaching, scuba diving season has arrived in Vancouver. Here’s a quick review of some gear I have recently tested out, which will be handy on your next dive.
Princeton Tec League Handheld Torch
The Princeton Tec League is a lightweight torch intended to function as a backup light for your scuba dive. This little gadget provides you with a powerful white light at 260 lumens – impressive for its size. This light does not weigh much – a mere 230 g – and it is the perfect backup light when you are under water. The light has a locking mechanism to prevent it from accidentally being turned off underwater. The 1 Maxbright LED lamp is of the highest quality and can burn a total of 14 hours on 4 AA Alkaline batteries. The lights are available in 5 colours.
When not used for diving, I have found the sturdy design make it a good light to bring along camping, or to use around the house.

The Sensor Dry Envelope is a touch-screen friendly, Sensor Dry Envelope offers straight-forward protection where you need it most. You can use your phone while it is safeguarded against water damage. It is made of a durable and waterproof nylon fabric that can withstand any environment. The envelope is waterproof and completely submersible. The envelope is closed with a VaporLock Waterproof Seal design that promises secure closure even against severe internal pressure. The Sensor Dry Envelope is available in black, orange and blue. In addition to diving, it’s also handy for trekking or environments where dust and dirt are a hazard to sensitive electronics.
