St. Mark’s Summit is a peak along the Howe Sound Crest Trail that offers spectacular views of Howe Sound. Hiking the entire Howe Sound Crest Trail (which runs all the way to Porteau Cove) is more than a simple day hike, but heading to Saint Mark’s Summit is a worthy destination of its own and can be done in about 4 to 5 hours. From the peak you can see the islands of Howe Sound, the Tantalus Range and even Vancouver Island.
runswick Mountain is the highest of all the North Shore peaks, and as such has incredible views in all directions. Howe Sound and its islands, Brunswick Lake, Sky Pilot, The Lions, Mount Harvey, and Grouse Mountain are all prominently on display. The narrow summit has a 360 degree panoramic view that is truly one of the best around.
Visible from Whistler and several points along the Sea to Sky highway, The Black Tusk is an iconic natural landmark in southwest BC. Located in Garibaldi Provincial Park, The Black Tusk offers a truly unique hiking experience, and draws hikers from far way. There are several amazing hikes in Garibaldi Park, but a trip to The Black Tusk is a must for anyone visiting the area.
Garibaldi Provincial Park offers several of the most amazing hikes in southwest B.C., and within the park itself no hike is more amazing than Panorama Ridge. The trail takes you up through a forest of Western Red Cedar and Douglas Fir trees, through meadows full of blooming wildflower, and provides one of the most incredible panoramic views you could wish for at the summit.
Garibaldi Lake in Garibaldi Provincial Park is a stunning, glacier-fed lake that sits 1,450 m high, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, glaciers, alpine meadows and volcanic structures. It is a great day hike, and even better camping destination.
