Being outdoors is great for your health. Outdoor activities have been proven to not only be beneficial to your physical health but also to their emotional health. In this post we will take a look at two Columbia products I’ve been using over the last month: the Men’s Silver Ridge Plaid Long Sleeve Shirt and the Men’s Ventrailia OutDry Trail Shoe.
Men’s Silver Ridge Plaid Long Sleeve Shirt
The Silver Ridge Plaid shirt is a slim cut option that is made specifically to help keep you dry while you are out on the trail, thanks to its quick-wicking material that has UPF30 built into it and has strategic venting. Even though the shirt has a slim fit, you still have plenty of room for movement. The fabric on this shirt is very comfortable. It is almost silky feeling to the touch and drapes very well. It may not seem it, but the Omni-Wick fabric is perfect for keeping the sweat away from your skin, helping you to stay dry on hot days and during physical exercise. Better still, the shirt contains sun protection technology (Omni-Shade UPF 30) which helps block UV rays from reaching your skin.
The Silver Ridge shirt is easy to wash and dry and works exactly as advertised. It is also very stylish option, one that you can wear out on a hike or even wear as part of your everyday wardrobe, especially if you live in an area that always has high temperatures.

Men’s Ventrailia OutDry Trail Shoe
The first thing I noticed about the Ventrailia OutDry trail shoe is that it is incredibly comfortable to wear. The materials used in the shoes are lightweight and they have a great grip on wet surfaces. These are definitely important qualities to have in a shoe, especially when you are hiking. They offer great support while out on your day hike.
As you might suspect from the name these shoes are waterproof as well, thanks to the OutDry technology, as demonstrated in the video below.
I’ve found these shoes perform great on the trail, overall. Your feet will stay at the perfect temperature, never getting too hot or too cold during your outdoor activities. Finally, these shoes are also stylish, allowing you to look good while staying active. I’ve found myself not only using these shoes for hiking, but also slipping them on for walking around as casual wear, as they are very comfortable to wear.
One recommendation if ordering online is to watch out for the sizing on these shoes, as they often run smaller. For example I’m normally a 10 or 10.5, but am very comfortable in a size 11 in the Ventrailia.
