- Another great ‘unique’ kayaking video from Kayak Yak. This guy nearly breaks his neck flying down a set of stairs:

- Also via Kayak Yak, this story from Discovery about scientists who had this amazing chance to kayak across the TOP of a glacier:

- Here’s 2 cool posts from the Wend Blog. Skiing 365 days a year isn’t a problem for this guy. Grass skiing 101:

BASE³ from Brian Drake on Vimeo.

- From All Climbing, a nice vid “of what appears to be hundreds of whippers at the Red River Gorge” :

The second video is of a new surfboard proto-type which is getting lots of attention:

- Also from Outside Blog, here’s video recap of the 2009 Yukon River Quest which is the world’s longest canoe and kayak race:

Whistler Blackcomb GlacierThe Blackcomb glacier season kicks off next Monday, July 9, and this season is shaping up to be a great one. From Transworld Business:

‘“We’re really ramping up the public offering this year,” says Adam Francis, Whistler Blackcomb’s assistant grooming manager. “We’re doubling the offering of terrain features we’ve had over previous years and are thrilled to be offering a Superpipe this year.”’

“Grooming and parks crews have been building the summer Superpipe under the Glacier Express chair. The pipe wall will feature three to four medium jibs and will be groomed nightly. As the build-out continues, the bottom of Showcase T-Bar will become jib central with six rails and boxes, varying in difficulty from small to large, and four medium-sized booters. Regular skiing and riding lanes will also be open to the public.”

Different pass options are available, but a 1 day adult runs $52. There are also summer glacier camps available.

Uploading begins 11am at the Wizard Express, and the park is open until 3pm. The season ends July 27.
