After non-stop sunshine all month, we get a day of pouring rain on the last day of the month. Is the summer over? Definitely not. There’s still plenty of time to get out there and bag some peaks. But, the sun is setting a lot earlier and it is getting colder, so keep this in mind.

Finally the weather turned for us this month and its been perfect for going hiking, running, kayaking and otherwise getting outdoors. Check out the Events Calendar to see what’s on tap for August. But before you do that, here’s a look back at some of the popular posts from July:

June-uary has come and gone. The weather has been sub-par for a start to summer, but there’s still lots going on. Check out the Events Calendar to see what’s on tap for July. But before you do that, here’s a look back at some of the popular posts from June:

  1. The PureOutside Outdoor Wiki launched! This is a great resource for everyone to use.
  2. Rob Hill becomes first Canadian with IBD to climb the Seven Summits.
  3. The Vancouver MEC BikeFest and North Shore Bike Fest 2010 took place. (The North Van MEC BikeFest takes place in July)
  4. The Grouse Grind opened for business (and increased downloading fees).
  5. Sebastien Albrecht set the new record for Grouse Grinds in a single day.

Lots of cool stuff going on in April as the snow starts to melt and people start looking forward to their favorite summer sports. The Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show came to town, and the Vancouver Festival of Ocean Films had its inaugural event. I also heard the Whistler Bike Swap was a big success. Looking back at month, here are some of the more popular posts from Outdoor Vancouver:

  1. We looked at a great non-profit called Evergreen.
  2. We reviewed Martin Parnell’s amazing Marathon Quest 250.
  3. Anthill Film’s Follow Me had its Canadian Premier.
  4. The Downtown Eastside Foot Clinic has a great program where you can donate your old running shoes.

After only putting up 6 posts in February, I got back on track with 19 posts for the month of March. Looking back at month, here are some of the more popular posts from Outdoor Vancouver:
